Draw Your Farm

In this episode, we draw a real estate farm on the live map, count every single-family home inside it, and get an all-inclusive price to write to all of them. You can follow along with your own neighborhood as you watch.

What you’ll learn

  • How to draw your farm on the live Google map, following the exact curve of your streets
  • How the door count finds every single-family home inside your shape, with verified owner data
  • How to read your itemized quote: writing, the real first-class stamp, and farm data
  • How to save your farm to your account and keep it ready for repeat mailings

Step 1 — Open the farm map

Head to realinkletters.com and click Draw Your Farm. The live Google map loads, search your area by city or zoom in on the neighborhood you want to farm.

Step 2 — Draw your shape

Click anywhere on the map to place your first marker, then keep clicking to trace the streets. You can follow the curve of a road, cut across at an intersection, or wind down a cul-de-sac — as many markers as you need, and the shape can be as specific as the neighborhood you want to reach. You don’t have to settle for a square if your farm isn’t one.

Step 3 — Count the homes

Click Count the homes in this farm. The count finds every single-family home inside your shape and verifies who lives there and who owns it, door by door. In the above episode’s example — a farm drawn around Castle Hill in the North Dallas suburbs — that’s 1,350 homes.

Step 4 — Read your quote

Your quote is itemized so you can see exactly what’s inside it:

  • Writing & stationery — 99 cents each at this volume. Real handwriting, high-end paper; every letter is genuinely written, one at a time.
  • The real first-class stamp — 82 cents, issued by the post office. It’s part of why handwritten letters enjoy a 98% open rate: a real stamp says someone took the effort to write to you, not a postage-paid indicia that says mass marketing.
  • Farm data — 29 cents per home for the verified names and addresses inside your shape.

That’s $2.10 per door, all-inclusive — $2,835 for the 1,350-home farm in this episode. The bigger the farm, the lower the per-letter price climbs down the tiers.

Step 5 — Save your farm

Name the farm (in the video above, we called it “North Dallas”) and save it. It lives in your account under My Farms — save as many as you need, and come back any time to re-order the same neighborhood. One click gets the farm ready for an order.
