How Letter Writing Works

This is the heart of Real Ink Letters: every letter is genuinely written with real handwriting. A machine guides the pen – but nothing is printed, photocopied, or mass-produced. Each letter is one of a kind.

Episode video coming soon – the written guide below has everything you need in the meantime.

What you’ll learn

  • Why a genuinely written letter beats printed direct mail
  • How our handwriting machine writes
  • What happens between your order and the mailbox
  • Standard vs Priority turnaround, honestly explained

Step 1 – Your order enters the writing queue

Standard letters are written and posted first-class within 3-4 business days, free. Priority letters are written and posted the next business day for a 20% surcharge on the writing.

Step 2 – Our handwriting machine writes your letter

Real handwriting on high-end stationery, one letter at a time. Because each letter is physically written, no two are identical.

Step 3 – The envelope is addressed by hand

In the writing style you chose – no address labels, no window envelopes, nothing that says junk mail before it is even opened.

Step 4 – A real first-class stamp

Issued by the post office, at the current first-class rate. A handwritten envelope with a real stamp is part of why our letters enjoy a 98% open rate.

Step 5 – Sealed and mailed

Your letter is sealed and posted first-class, the same day it is written.
